Miletti Law was established with local clients in mind, looking to serve local interest.
When the firm first opened its doors, the business model was simple... we served as a local firm, for local companies. Most of the clientele consisted of mom and pop shops, with less than $150,000 a year in gross sales. As those mom and pop shops began to grow, their liabilities also began to grow. As their liabilities began to grow, our firm began to grow. Suddenly, the issues were no longer mom and pop issues, but rather, became far more complex over time.
Miletti Law developed and grew in response to industry demand. There were just too many gray areas that white shoe, ivy league law firms did not want to get into. Law firm were not interested in small cases, unique opinion cases, research only tasks and other small time transitive matters. Everyone looked for that one big case, or that one big client.
Here, all our clients are equally as valuable, and all our clients get the same respect and courteousness that each of them deserves. Our firm is competitive in rates and quality delivered. We specialize in short term engagements, and look to resolve any and all issues the first time around. Most law firms provide vague results and confusing deliverables. Our firm seeks to ensure our clients have what they need in order to run their business affairs properly… the experience and expertise to handle any situation, the best possible product delivered to permit them to make the most prudent decision they can, and the greatest level of certainty possible, in an increasingly uncertain world.

Originally born in rough and tumble New Brunswick, New Jersey, Ms. Chiara LaFazia provides her services in the field of Intellectual Property here at Miletti Law and maintains her residence in Caldwell, New Jersey. Currently pursuing her J.D. at New York Law School, Ms. LaFazia looks to further develop her given talents and expertise in intellectual property law.
Whether we are talking about trademarks, patents, proprietary information, confidentiality and trade secrets and licensing (to name a few), Ms. LaFazia leaves no stone unturned-- and often consults through her brand, "Licensed by LaFazia." More than just a catchy name-- Ms. LaFazia brings a unique perspective to her clients and their brands.
Leveraging the firm's already established brand power, as well as the firm's well known marketing and brand prowess, Ms. LaFazia's unique perspective is yet another angle, enabling her clients and customers to hit all areas of the market, leaving no stone unturned. Considering her lifelong interest in live theatrical performances and musicals, this seemed like a great fit!
In her free time, when she isn't turning mom and pop shops into eCommerce monsters and marketing moguls, she enjoys seeing as many Broadway shows as possible, attending concerts, reading, visiting museums, or trying to find the newest must-have beauty products from her favorite small businesses.
Once the bar exam comes and goes, Ms. LaFazia intends to further her practice into law, offering a broader range of services in New York and New Jersey, continuing the never ending expansion of her intellectual property expertise in trademarks, copyrights, patents, licensing and trade dress (to name a few).

Shama Puranik - Law Clerk, Legal Librarian
Ms. Shama Puranik is a third year law student at NYLS who is passionate about supporting the community, as she is a part of the Class of 2023 Pro Bono Scholars, and a former Wilf Impact Center Pro Bono Fellow.
Passionate, Intelligent, Driven, Ms. Puranik has already conquered so much in such a short period of time. While the law is her forte, she commands an incredible understanding of complex medical terminology, taxonomy and systems of classification, the sciences, and organizational infrastructure and operations. This understanding makes her particularly dangerous in her craft, because while others are learning on the job, Ms. Puranik brings years of experience in the relevant fields, and applies complex systems with ease.
Here at Miletti Law, Mr. Puranik is our go-to advocate for employee-side issues, discrimination and harassment, personal injury matters, and claims of malpractice and negligence.
Ms. Puranik believes in the value of alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation and arbitration, as well as looking to resolve issues "outside of the box." As we say at Miletti Law, if you are already committed to litigation, then you have likely already lost he ability to resolve your case. Cases are resolved using intelligence, passion, creativity, and dispute resolution-- all qualities perfected by Mr. Puranik.
Alongside employment and labor issues, Ms. Puranik is sitting for admission to the USPTO Patent Bar. It just seems fitting with her level of experience, understanding and comprehension of the sciences.
In her free time, Shama enjoys hiking with her husband, sewing prom gowns for underprivileged high school students, and hosting barbecues with her family. She also writes grants for community improvement programs to receive funding.
