While we are still the authoritative force in Employment Law, it only seemed right to introduce one of the many upcoming series in which we remain persistent in introducing a variety of topics, which will look to not only educate but also deliver in a sense that only Miletti Law® can. In this regard, this blog introduces you to our second video titled “Miletti Law – Miletti On Politics – The Media & The Message,” which is Episode II of the fresh, new series on Politics. In this video, Vincent Miletti Esq. provides us with his personal take on the “Media” and the “Message” it delivers, particularly on matters that have significant implications to politics in America.

As we mentioned in the last blog under this series, Vinny is candid and straightforward in his views, stance, and position regarding political matters. This is something you will realize soon after you watch the video. For example, while disclosing that he has been watching some old videos he made on a different YouTube channel, he reveals that he had been very active with the “Tea Party Movement” back in the days. Interestingly, he even remembers the period and date he created the first video.

However, one of the most critical things he realized after watching these videos regards how the media operates in America. Well, he reveals that he’s almost 40 at some point, but the important thing is that from the videos, Vinny realized that he has always adopted a similar structure and stance in all his speeches. That is another crucial thing he realized after watching his old videos, which provides us with a true definition of a libertarian. He realized that prominent politicians or other individuals who speak on the news media always deliver a technically similar message. Generally, the message comprises of “a current issue,” “what and why we are facing the issue,” “how and when to solve the problem,” and “the speaker is the only way to solve it.”

All free-minded people and champions of personal freedoms can agree that during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the message that persisted on the news media was that of fear, terror, and panic created by the paranoia of an imminent apocalypse caused by the virus. Minute after minute, news channels would provide more breaking news of a million deaths and several millions of new infections. They said that it was more deadly than the swine flu, Spanish flu, and the bubonic plague of the Black Death. All you heard was deadly, dangerous, unsafe, and how you would die tomorrow! The panic and chaos they created made everyone believe that if they happened to get infected, they would be included in the count of deaths announced the following day.

Unfortunately, the government, politicians, and other know-it-alls assured us that they got the situation in control and had the solution. We all know that the data did not support it, but none of them seemed to care. The kind of government impunity revealed in “An Enemy of the People” by Henrik Ibsen – no relation here, of course. The officials and those in authority told us to believe them, from the national to the local level. However, the mess never left their side because all they spoke was nonsense. None had a concrete solution apart from the compulsory wearing of masks and having a dose of an experimental drug that did not stop you from getting infected or spreading the virus.

What they did not know is that the real problem is individual health – in relation to American eating habits, quality of life, and whether you live an active life and take regular exercises to keep fit and healthy. Instead of focusing on such real issues that would help you stay healthy and alive, the news media spread fear of how a superbug would kill you, your loved ones, and your family. To make matters worse, the political mafias only seemed to appeal to panic and fear. Think about it – what was holding you back before COVID-19 hit? Rampant discrimination, right? What about the African Americans? Racism and discrimination because of color, right? No one has yet forgotten the “Me Too Movement” and black ceiling.

In a nutshell, there is always something you should be afraid of, which holds you down and causes your detriment irrespective of who you are in society. While the glass ceiling and gender-based discrimination hold women down, African Americans cannot get their fair share due to racism and color-based discrimination. Others cannot rise due to the offensive approach by corporate America. While this is how the world has been for ages, everything that comes with the media is usually sandwiched with fear and terror; be afraid of corporate America because you cannot make it or be afraid of men because they will always harass you. This suggests that the media cannot lead by an authentic design or survive by winning in an argument of ideas unless they spread the message of fear over any common issue affecting the Americans. As the most advanced animals in the hierarchy of beings, it is crucial to understand when not to give a damn about the message of fear.
